We are in Turkey...

Today we are in Turkey. We visited a archealogical site called ephesus. It was absolutely amazing. They have found these old villages in the canyons and hill and are finding and preserving them the best that they can and let me just say that the buildings and the tile work that they are finding is beautiful. Look at some of the site of Ephesus!

They have found these buildings and walkways and even large stadiums and arenas in the hills there and they claim that they have not even began to touch the area and think there is alot more to excavate but they are worried that if they excavate them the preservation will not last. I hope that someday we will have methods that can allow for the preservation of such wonderful places!

After walking around Ephesus for a while we went into a ruq weaving shop. It was interesting to watch the women hand weave these delicate and very detailed rugs. Sometimes the weaving can take months or years to complete. The ladies were very talents and the rugs exquisite.
It was veryinteresting to learn how they would pull the silk and then dye it with natural herbs and plants to make the gorgeous rugs.

Another fantastic day! I still can't believe the things that we have seen and done!
